Flash Fiction #142 – Rex and the TV

Three-year-old Rex adored the TV. He knew how to use the remote and often snuck out of bed to watch. When caught, Rex would pout and point his stubby finger to the TV screen.

“I watch the people,” he’d explain.

One morning as the family watched Sunflower Cove, the TV fizzled out and couldn’t be turned back on.

“It’s broken,” said Rex’s dad.

“No!” cried Rex.

His mom explained they’d get a new one, but Rex’s tears didn’t stop. He ran to the TV and tapped desperately. “We got to save the little people!”
