Flash Fiction #216 – A Serving of Luck

Daisy hated serving: why was luck never on her side?

A coworker invited her to a screening where she would have met a film director,

but she was “tired” and declined.

She rolled her eyes at the table who asked for more salsa,

not knowing the woman was a casting director for an upcoming film.

At the end of the night Daisy shorted the hostess her tip-out.

The same hostess who became a star a year later after getting the salsa and going to the screening.

All while Daisy went on wondering why luck passed her by.
