Flash Fiction #247 – Serial Cheats

Circe gave her husband chances to come clean about the women.

He continued to lie—he continued to cheat.

His texts said things like: come over, my wife isn’t home.

His business partners snickered behind her back.

When women went missing—when the news speculated it was a serial killer, Circe made a tearful call to 911.

She reported her husband—she reported his friends for aiding and abetting a murderer.

Now, with a smile, she sips her tea as each idiot is arrested:

killing those women had been worth it.
