Flash Fiction #34 – Limited Options

Life had limitless possibilities five minutes ago.

Sure, my two kids narrowed life choices,

but there were still possibilities.

If we hadn\’t moved.

If Tom would have let me take that part-time job.

But no.

He wanted me to be a house mommy.

It’s all his fault, really.

He moved us to this stifling town.

He pushed me to be best friends with Linda.

He was the one that recommended we get a gun.

The one shaking in my hands.

The one I used to shoot him

and his mistress, Linda, dead.

Limited options for me now …
