Flash Fiction #85 – A Wonderful Life

They done a awful good job, I’ll give them that.

The mashed potatoes and gravy are almost as good as Gamma’s.

Fried chicken is better.

Offer it to my visitor,

but he don’t wanna partake.

The butter makes the chicken come straight off the bone.

Next, I eat blueberry pie and vanilla ice cream.

Gamma used to tell me to think of the starving people.

I lick the plate plumb clean.

As I finish It’s a Wonderful Life,

I wonder what life would of been like if I had an angel. 

In twelve hours, they’ll inject me and I’ll be gone.
