Flash Fiction #306 – The Dream Peddler

Flash Fiction #306 – The Dream Peddler

People traveled far and wide to be blessed by him.

What an easy job he had back then.

He peddled the same ole dream,

and in exchange they gave him their everything.

Whenever people began to question,

he’d hand out a sliver or two of his decadent cake,

while he sat on the rest.

And this, he thought, was how it would always be.

But the people woke up.

Now the Dream Peddler grovels on the golden streets,

begging for handouts,

wishing for the good ole days.
