Flash Fiction #298 – Ride of a Lifetime

The bus-driver waited for the bickering to die. “Thank you for joining me on a ride of a lifetime.”

“It better be,” responded one.

They all agreed, glaring from the driver to the holes in the upholstery.

The driver spoke cheerfully throughout the three-hour ride. But the passengers were too busy bickering to hear him.

“Are we there yet?” they asked as the bus stopped.

The bus-driver huffed in indignation. “Did you not look out the windows?”

In their silence, he shook his head in pity. “You just missed the event of a lifetime.”
