Flash Fiction #160 – That’s a Wrap

Flash Fiction #160 – That’s a Wrap

The beautiful woman in her thirties smiles as her handsome family holds hands at the dining table:

her husband,

her father,

her daughter,

her son,

her mother,

back to her.

Her mother squeezes her hand: “May we… always be a family,” she says, voice faltering.

The woman nods, tears in her eyes. She takes them in a final time: there’s so much love here, if only it were real.

“Cut,” says the director. “That’s a wrap.”

The crew breaks down the set.

The actress, Celeste, remains seated as her perfect family slips away.
