Flash Fiction #333 – Old McDonald Had a Farm

“With these pesticides and lack of nutrients, we won’t grow much longer,” said the grain.

But the cows kept eating, too starved to care.

“Tell the farmer we can’t produce milk because of the sickly grain.”

But the dog was too loyal to the farmer to care.

​

“But I’ve been your best friend for eleven years, and my aching joints are from tainted meat.”

The farmer pulled out his gun, too tired from accruing bills to care.

“Just one more loan,” begged the farmer.

But the banks were too fat with profit to care.
